Voyager of the Seas

Royal Caribbean really hit the innovation spot when they introduced the Voyager class of cruise ship and in particular Voyager of the Seas.

So what made the Voyager of the Seas really stand out? Well perhaps there are too many features to mention such as the Boulevard! Yes most cruise ships do have their coffee houses and bars; however Royal Caribbean introduced the Boulevard on Voyager of the Seas a street like scenario with three stories of cabins, all with windows facing down onto the Boulevard. Imagine the scene; you wake up in the morning and gaze down on the people below, Voyeur cruising is finally here!

As well as the Boulevard, Voyager of the Seas at 138,000 tons was the largest cruise ships in the world; this was a short lived mantle with the arrival of the Cunard Queen Mary 2 and subsequently the Freedom class of ships such as Independence of the Seas.

The ships in the Voyager class are Voyager of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas and Navigator of the Seas making a class of five wonderful and innovative cruise ships.

In 2007, Voyager of the Seas spent the summer cruising out of Southampton after Royal Caribbean moved Legend of the Seas.  Although popular she was replaced by Independence of the Seas in 2008. During the summer of 2009 she will be operating out of Barcelona on a series of seven night cruises.

Any cruise on any Royal Caribbean cruise ship has to be an experience not to forget and one on Voyager of the Seas is no different.
