Legend of the Seas
Legend of the Seas is the first in a series of six Vision class cruise ships and at 70,000 tons was once considered to be a large cruise ship. Interestingly Legend of the Seas was also the largest Royal Caribbean ship to cruise form Southampton; until the introduction of Voyager of the Seas and subsequently Independence of the Seas. During 2006 Legend of the Seas had her summer home port in Southampton; she now however cruises out of Civitavecchia, the port for Rome partaking in numerous Med Cruises.
There are six ships in the Royal Caribbean Vision class and Legend of the Seas is almost exactly like Splendor of the Seas, however the newer versions of the Vision class grew in size with Enchantment of the Seas being some 10,000 tons heavier than her earlier counterparts. Other ships in the same class as Legend of the Seas are Grandeur of the Seas, Rhapsody of the Seas and Vision of the Seas.
All Vision class of ships she have a copious amount of class canopies enabling some of the best viewing in the world of cruising, hence their name Vision class!
To experience these glass canopies and a cruise on a typical, exciting and innovate Royal Caribbean cruise, then Legend of the Seas may be the ship for you.
