Celebrity Solstice
Celebrity Solstice is a Solstice Class cruise ship operated by Celebrity Cruises. She is the first ship of the Solstice Class and her sister ships will be Celebrity Equinox due to enter service in summer 2009 and Celebrity Eclipse due to enter service in 2010. Two further ships are expected to join Celebrity Solstice in 2011 and 2012, however, these have not yet been named.
Celebrity Solstice was officially named on the 14th November 2008 before embarking on her maiden voyage on the 23rd November 2008. On board she offers a new category of stateroom known as the AquaClass. and her amenities include a large theatre, youth facilities and many dining options.
Celebrity Solstice weighs 122,000 gross tons and measures 314.86 metres in length and 36.88 metres in width. The Solstice class ships will cruise with approximately 2,850 passengers and 1,500 crew members on board spread over 19 decks.
