Azamara Journey

Azamara Journey started life as R6, one of eight identical ships belonging to the now defunct Renaissance Cruises. After the demise of Renaissance Cruises, R6 was initially leased to and then purchased by Pullmantur where she had two names, Blue Star and then Blue Dream. She was named Blue Dream after Cruiseinvest, the company who bought all the R ships when Renaissance Cruises went under, sold what was R5 (at the time cruising as Blue Dream for Pullmantur and now Nautica) to Oceania Cruises.

When Royal Caribbean purchased Pullmantur, Blue Dream was transferred to Celebrity Cruises as Celebrity Journey, with the creation of what is now Azamara Club Cruises, Celebrity Journey became Azamara Journey.

Azamara Journey is a small cruise ship weighing in at 30,277 tons and able to carry 676 passengers in 358 cabins. Of the 332 outside cabins 249 are balcony cabins.
