Disney Cruise Lines
Mention Disney and most people will think of theme parks and family films. However, since 1998, Disney Cruise Lines, part of one of the world’s biggest brands, Disney, has been making waves in the cruising industry.
Disney cruise lines currently have two virtually identical ships, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, both of which have nearly 900 staterooms and can hold somewhere in the region of 2,400 passengers.
You can enjoy visiting the picturesque ports of Key West, St. Maarten and Grand Cayman on relaxing Caribbean cruises, embark upon an historic Panama Canal crossing, or spoil yourself on magical Mexican Riviera cruises.
A further port of call is to a private island, owned by The Walt Disney Company, called Castaway Cay. In similar vein to the island of Labadee in Haiti, owned by Royal Caribbean, Castaway Cay is exclusive to Disney customers. One of the many attractions of this ‘castaway’ themed island is the ship the Flying Dutchman, from the film Pirates of the Caribbean, which is docked in a beautiful lagoon location.
These cruises have proved so popular that Disney cruise lines are doubling their fleet to four, the first of which should be in operation in 2011. These magnificent vessels will be bigger than Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. Each will have 1250 staterooms and will weigh in at and incredible 122,000 tons.
Disney’s reputation has been built on fun-packed holidays that all the family can enjoy. This reputation has been enhanced considerably by Disney Cruise Lines and looks set to be an ongoing success story.
