P&O Cruises have announced itineraries for the summer of 2009 for their magnificent cruise ship, Aurora. Highlights will be a 21 night Caribbean cruise commencing 13 April, a 14 night Baltic Cruise commencing 04 May and a 14 night Spitsbergen and Fjords Cruise setting sail on 03 June 2009.

The ever popular Aurora is known for her very British design, but regular passengers will tell you that the onboard atmosphere is distinctly cosmopolitan. P&O Cruises have labelled Aurora a superliner and that is exactly what she is.

Those who sail on P&O Cruises Oriana generally fall in love with this classic cruise liner and come back again and again to enjoy a magical cruising experience. A cruise on Oriana can be as formal or as informal as you want especially when it comes to dining options. Arcadia Refurbishment

P&O Cruises Arcadia is currently in Bremerhaven, Germany undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment. She arrived at Lloydwerft shipyard on 26th November 2008 and is scheduled to return to Southampton on 20th December 2008.

The refurbishment will see a total of 34 new staterooms added with private balconies as well as a new bar and 30-seat boutique cinema. The photo gallery is to be revamped providing more space and privacy for guests onboard. To complete the refurbishment new carpets, furnishings and upholstery is to be added in many areas of the ship including the Spinnaker Bar, Neptune Pool and passenger cabins.

Arcadia will depart Southampton on 20th December on a 16 night Mediterranean cruise before embarking on her maiden 101 night Grand Voyage just weeks after her completed refurbishment.

P&O Cruises are offering a fantastic 94 night world voyage on board Arcadia. You will depart from Southampton on 10th January 2010 and be at sea until arriving back in the UK on April 15th.

The world cruise will take in many different sights from around the world. You will be able to sample local cuisine and culture in every port you stop at and there are shore excursions available at every port. You will spend 2 full days sampling Sydney and Hong Kong and 1 full day at most of the other ports of call.

2010 Sees Azura Launch

P&O Cruises’ newest superliner is set to launch in 2010. Azura is set to have some of the newest innovations including an Indian fine dining restaurants, 18 single staterooms, two large suites for extended families or groups, 900 staterooms with private balconies, a number of spa staterooms and exclusive access to the Oasis Spa.

A new select dining restaurants and wine bar concept is to be added with the help of TV wine expert Olly Smith. Other highlights that guests will find onboard Azura include an open air cinema, personal waiter service, a classic London pub, a show lounge and a dance floor.

When it comes to family entertainment Azura offers a Wii room which enables families to enjoy a variety of games on the Nintendo Wii.

Pacific Sun Rescues Four

A P&O Australia ship has rescued four yachtsmen who run aground on a reef on in the Coral Sea. Crew from Pacific Sun came to the sailors rescue by launching a lifeboat to help the stranded quartet.

Pacific Sun was carrying almost 2,000 passengers at the time of the rescue en route to Brisbane. The rescue took just over an hour and all parties were pronounced fit and well after having been checked over by a doctor.

Pacific Dawn Coffee Appreciation

P&O Cruises Australia’s Pacific Dawn is due to celebrate her first birthday on 7th November 2008. To mark this occasion the cruise line is to launch onboard coffee appreciation courses which will be exclusively available from November 2008.

The coffee appreciation courses will see a mixture of coffee demonstrations and interactive lectures on each of the cruises. The demonstrations and lectures are designed to show guests all they need to know about the perfect coffee.

P&O has even provided training to some of their crew members to turn them into coffee ambassadors, ready for the launch of the courses. These new coffee ambassadors will be on hand to provide guests with everything they need to know and answer their coffee questions.

New Ships For P&O Logo

New Ships For P&O

P&O Cruises Australia has announced plans to extend its fleet with the addition of two more ships over the next two years.

The first of the two ships will be named Pacific Jewel and will sail from Brisbane in December 2009. Pacific Jewel will become the sister ship to Pacific Dawn. The second of the two ships will arrive late in 2010 and will sail from Auckland. Both superliners will carry approximately 2000 passengers.

The two ships will be deployed to P&O Australia from Carnival UK following the phasing out of Ocean Village Cruises.
