Cheap Cruises & Cruise Holidays including Last Minute Cruises and Cruises from Southampton Logo

Gills Cruises

It looks like Gills Cruises may be in trouble; P&O Cruises & Cunard are among the 4 cruise lines that will no longer allow Gills Cruises to sell their cruises.

Gills Cruises have been around for years however rather like Cruise Control they have always tried to undercut other companies and as such are struggling. There may be other reasons; I am only assuming in this post and apologise to Gills Cruises if I am wrong. Don’t forget Cruise Control went bust while the largest cruise agency.

When I was thinking of selling cruises myself I could not match Gills Cruises prices and they were one of the reasons why I decided not to carry on with my foray into creating a travel agency. With luck Gills Cruises will pull through and their clients will be unaffected by this shocking news; I wish them well.

Cruisegle Cruise Holidays

Rather than loose all the work done on this website I am creating a new Cruisegle called Cruise Holidays; this site is cruisegle.co.uk.

Overtime I will move all the posts from here to there however initially the new site will be treated as a separate cruise holidays entity.

Obviously the new site will be a lot faster than this one and will look different; hopefully there will be more functionality as well?

I hope you bear with me as I organise the move and will check back with cruisegle.co.uk for your future cruise holidays.

Oasis of the Seas is to offer Cruises from Southampton

An interesting piece of news in the Liverpool Daily Post today suggests to many in the cruising world that Oasis of the Seas is to offer Cruises from Southampton at some point in the next few years. The post entitled Southampton announces new £30m cruise ship terminal mentions that the project should be completed in 2013 and will create a fifth cruise ship facility that would cater for the largest cruise ships in the world.

OK that is not definitely saying that Oasis of the Seas is to offer Cruises from Southampton however the last time Southampton built a terminal Independence of the Seas turned up; we shall keep you posted.

How Much Would you Pay for a Cheap Cruise Holiday?

How much would you pay for a Cheap Cruise Holiday? It is amazing how much time people waste searching for a cheap cruise holiday; often they may save themselves a couple of £’s but is the time and effort worth it? Surely great service at a cost of a £ or two is better than frustration because you can’t get through to customer service; why? Well there is no money in the pot to pay for the customer service because of all the £’s knocked off the price.

By splitting the cost of cruise holidays into a nightly rate you can find some amazingly cheap cruises even with the top cruise lines; then any savings are in pennies and not £’s. Earlier this year we had some really exceptional cruise deals based on last minute cruises. One I particularly remember was with P&O Cruises which worked out at around £49 per person per night.

When you consider most cruisers look at a figure of around £100 per person per night for a cruise anything under this is very good value. In fact many three star and three star plus cruise lines have regular cruise deals around the £49 to £79 a night.

I will soon be introducing a new cruise review section to Cruisegle, in it I shall offer people the chance to tell us how much they paid for their Cheap Cruise Holiday.

Bing Can’t Spell Royal Caribbean

OK how do you spell Royal Caribbean? Yes itis ribb and not rrib! Yet when you search for Royal Caribbean on Bing.com you get a serp (search results page) that looks like this:

All well and good. Now press the link to take you to more results and the search term changes to Royal Carribean:

Now come on Bing, is it Royal Caribbean or is it Royal Carribbean? By the way, I am working on a new Royal Caribbean site myself.

Cruisegle seek Innovation Award

OK I know I am dreaming now, however I am going to be making changes on the website shortly and would love to win one of these Innovation in Travel Awards. After recently having a quote in Travel Weekly am I now aiming to high? Well why not!

I am working on a new and unique way of displaying prices for great cruise deals, well I will be when I finally get around to selling cruises that is. Perhaps when the cheap cruise deals are showing on the website I may get a chance of winning an Innovation Award.

Cruisegle in Travel Weekly

Fame at last! Well not quite! I, Ctuisegle, had the quote of the week in Travel Weekly this week, it was nothing to do with cheap cruises either! It was where would you like to go on holiday over Christmas, my kids love Herm in the channel islands and felt that was the place to go. Not this time of the year thanks! However it is a great place to get away from everything and is spot on for a summer break.

So Cruisegle was in Travel Weekly for the first and hopefully not last time.
