Celebrity Cut Fuel Charges

Celebrity Cruises fuel supplement charges have been cut following the decision of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd to cut the charges on Royal Caribbean International, Azamara cruises and Celebrity Cruises.

This cut in fuel charges is to coincide with the reductions in global fuel prices and will apply to bookings made after 10th November 2008 and to cruises departing after 1st January 2010.

Royal Caribbean is to follow the changes in global fuel prices and will adjust their prices and cuts accordingly.

Delivery Of Celebrity Solstice

Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Solstice was delivered at a ceremony in Emshaven, Netherlands ready to embark on its transatlantic voyage on 25th October 2008. Her arrival in Fort Lauderdale is expected to be around the 3rd November 2008.

Once she has arrived in Fort Lauderdale on 3rd November 2008 she will act as a platform for Celebrity Cruises’ global sales meeting as well as two-night preview cruises for travel agents.

A formal naming ceremony will take place on 14th November 2008 ready to embark on her inaugural cruise to the Eastern Caribbean on 23rd November 2008.

From spring 2009 Celebrity Solstice will embark on 10 and 11 night Mediterranean sailings from Rome.

New Celebrity Shopping Initiative

Celebrity Cruises has introduced a new shopping program that will operate 24 hours a day. This new shopping initiative is to be called ‘Shop Celebrity’ and will include the launch of the cruise lines new amenity program ‘Gifts by Celebrity’.

The new shopping program will allow consumers and travel agents to purchase items for themselves as well as gifts. The gifts can be delivered to the guests homes or offices making their shopping more convenient.

First Sailing For Solstice Logo

First Sailing For Solstice

Celebrity Solstice has set sail for the first time from Papenburg, Germany. She is the largest ship ever built by the longtime shipbuilder carrying a total of 2,850 guests.

The ship offers a fantastic service with top dining options as well as a lawn club, glassblowing, a state of the art theatre and a great range of accommodation.

After being berthed in the Netherlands between September 29th 2008 and October 24th 2008 Celebrity Solstice will embark on a transatlantic voyage before arriving in Fort Lauderdale in November.

The formal naming ceremony will take place on 14th November 2008 and her maiden season will begin on the 23rd of that month.

New Itineraries for Celebrity

Celebrity Cruises have announced new itineraries for Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Mercury.

Celebrity Millennium will spend some of 2009 in Alaska as well as offering many Southern Caribbean cruises from San Juan. Ports of call for the Caribbean itineraries include St Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Aruba and Dominica.

Celebrity Mercury will enjoy cruises on the Panama Canal as well as cruises in the Eastern and Western Caribbean calling at Antigua, St Thomas, Mexico and the Bahamas.
