P&O Cruises Arcadia is currently in Bremerhaven, Germany undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment. She arrived at Lloydwerft shipyard on 26th November 2008 and is scheduled to return to Southampton on 20th December 2008.
The refurbishment will see a total of 34 new staterooms added with private balconies as well as a new bar and 30-seat boutique cinema. The photo gallery is to be revamped providing more space and privacy for guests onboard. To complete the refurbishment new carpets, furnishings and upholstery is to be added in many areas of the ship including the Spinnaker Bar, Neptune Pool and passenger cabins.
Arcadia will depart Southampton on 20th December on a 16 night Mediterranean cruise before embarking on her maiden 101 night Grand Voyage just weeks after her completed refurbishment.

A drugs raid onboard P&O Cruises’ Arcadia saw seven people arrested whilst she was docked in Southampton.
More than £1million worth of drugs were seized by HM Revenue and Customs and the UK Border Agency during the raid with four of the seven arrested in possession of 30kg of cocaine strapped to their bodies.
All of the arrested are said to be from the Birmingham and Manchester area and it is assured that none of these were crew members of P&O.
