I recently did a post suggesting this website was for sale and that Voyana Cruises, Iglu Cruises and Barrhead Travel Cruises would hopefully be interested. Well on one count I was right, however due to a slight problem with the Google site map the page soon disappeared into obscurity. Hence this little post.
Yeas I know it does not say anything, but then that is the power of a well run, well optimized website about the world of cruise that mentions Voyana Cruises, Iglu Cruises and Barrhead Travel Cruises.

Oasis of the Seas is set to cost Royal Caribbean a cool $1.2 billion, however in Royal Caribbean’s annual 10-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission they stated “Although we believe that we will be able to, there can be no assurance that we will be able to do so (finance the ship) or that we will be able to do so on acceptable terms.”
Even though Royal Caribbean says Oasis is three quarters built, there are doubts if she will ever set sail, so does this mean that Oasis of the Seas is sunk? If so what effect will that have on Royal Caribbean?
Well recently Royal Caribbean’s credit rating was lowered as they struggle with cash flow due mainly to people spending less on board. Added to this the current financial markets will make it difficult for Royal Caribbean to gain monies from elsewhere. They do have however government financing guarantees from Finnvera, the export credit agency of Finland. This is for 80% of the financed amount for both Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas which is also currently being constructed. Though the guarantees are in place Royal Caribbean has yet to line up actual financing for the vessels.
So is Oasis of the Seas sunk before she even sets sail, probably not, this ship will create so much expectancy that she will fill her cruises for a couple of years at least and after all Royal Caribbean will need to get some of their money back.
That all said I think very few cruise lines will be announcing new builds in the next couple of years, after all the order books are already full, yet the ships are not!
Let’s hope Royal Caribbean get to bottom of this, let’s hope Oasis of the Seas is not sunk before she even sets sail.

According to Usatoday, Costa Cruises‘ Costa Romantica suffered a fire in the engine room.
Costa Cruises say that the fire erupted in one of the four diesel generators within the engine room of the 1,680-passenger Costa Romantica but “was promptly fought and rapidly put out.” Costa Cruises went on to say “After a long technical work, (the crew) succeeded to restore the electricity on board and consequently basic services on board, propulsion included.”
Costa Romantica was on a South American cruise when the incident happened and remained anchored near Punta del Este, Uruguay for some time after the event.
Costa Cruises have also made a statement to say that no one was injured in the blaze.

Having unwittingly over looking Singles Cruises, we have made amends by introducing a Singles Cruises page on the website.
Many people feel they are hard done by, by being single, to some extent they are, however cruise lines do need to make money, however I feel perhaps they should build into new ships a few single cabins so that they can offer Singles Cruises without the supplements.

Carnival Sensation, the 15 year old, Fantasy class, 2052 passenger Carnival Cruises ship has undergone a multi million dollar refit which includes upgrades to cabins and the pool area.
In dock for 35 days, Carnival Sensation has had 98 cabins turned into Balcony Cabins as part of Carnival Cruises “Evolutions of Fun” refurbishment program for the line’s eight Fantasy class vessels. Every one of the 1,026 cabins has been remodeled as have the dining and areas and guest corridors.
Other upgrades include the addition of a new Water Park on board, with the longest water slide at sea, some 300 foot long. Carnival has also added more facilities for 12-14 year olds with what is known as Circle C, to enhence their cruise experience.
Carnival Cruises have undertaken the “Evolutions of Fun” program to enhance all their older ships, after all replacing Carnival Sensation would cost a hell of a lot more.

Be careful when using Mobile Phones at Sea or using a wireless card on a cruise ship even when you are docked in a port within your own country. One cruiser, Wayne Burdick decided to watch Chicago Bears on his laptop via his Mobile while in the port of Miami. He had a set up where he had unlimited minutes, however even with International Roaming switched off he was charged a whopping $27,000 to watch the game.
AT&T after pressure from the newspaper re-credited his bill, however others that use Mobile Phones at Sea will not be so lucky. I once had a look around Costa Classica when she made a very rare visit to Southampton and on checking my Mobile, I was logged into one of the Italian Mobile Networks. Making a call then would have cost me as much as if I was in Italy and what was worse, receiving a call, though in Southampton would have been the same.
So the moral of this story is simple, if you Cruise and are using Mobile Phones at Sea, be careful, wherever you are!

Our Cruise website is for sale, we are hoping it might interest the likes of Iglu Cruises, Voyana Cruises and Barrhead Travel Cruises, though it probably will not.
In the last two months we have changed the focus of the site and it is now ranking very high for terms like Bargain Cruises, Cheap Cruises, Discount Cruises and also Last Minute Cruises. Add to that its rise month on month in numbers of visitors; its great name, Cruisegle and that it is respected by Google and it really has some value, it just needs a little time to finish it, that’s all!
Anyway if anyone wants to buy this Cruise website including Iglu Cruises, Voyana Cruises and Barrhead Travel Cruises, please contact me via email.
